History

Established in 1872, as the oldest international school in Asia, the school continues to meet the needs of children (co-educational, 2½ years to Grade 12) from the multi-cultural, multi-faith international community.
For almost 150 years, quality nurturing education has been provided based upon Christian principles to children from the international community of all nationalities and faiths, and strong character and moral citizenship have been emphasised in all areas of school life at Saint Maur.

Culture

As a Catholic foundation, Saint Maur functions as a school community that respects and values cultural and religious difference, and where moral values govern all that we do to help students, parents and staff reach their full potential.
They support each member of our school community, and students receive unparalleled care in a safe, supportive, and diverse learning environment to be global citizens through dynamic, international curricula.
The cultural diversity inherent in the school is one of their strengths, and students develop the knowledge, skills, and internationally-minded approach necessary to contribute productively to an increasingly interdependent global society.

Learning

Being traditional in values does not stop the school from being progressive in educational innovation. Saint Maur has continuously been one of the first schools in Japan, Asia, and the world to adopt and develop the Montessori system, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) program, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. One of the most valuable benefits of a Saint Maur education is preparation for the future. Students are provided with a balanced, quality academic and extracurricular program which to date has resulted in a 100% matriculation rate into four-year universities and colleges.
